Legos for Mike (I Mean Logan)

No huge story here - mainly just pics but here's a little explanation:
Some of you know that Mike has a huge Lego collection which he has passed on to Logan.  Mike recently got Logan this Lego "Racers" thing that has a track and then Lego cars which have now been combined with the rest of the Legos.  Mike decided Logan needed some sort of carrier for his Lego cars so we dumped them all out on the floor and went looking for all the right pieces to make one....

Tooth #2 (Sort of)

Logan lost his first tooth Sunday night.  On Tuesday morning before school, I noticed Logan's second front lower tooth was VERY loose.  I was definitely expecting him to come home from school with a tooth in a Ziploc bag.  When I picked Logan up from school that afternoon, our conversation went something like this:

ME - "Logan, let me see your teeth.  What happened to your other tooth?!"
LOGAN - "I ate it.  In the cafeteria."
ME - "Did you swallow it?"
LOGAN - "Yes, it went down my throat.  It was hard to eat."
ME - "Did you tell anyone?"
LOGAN - "No, I forgot."

We then went on to discuss how the Tooth Fairy handles swallowed teeth.  We decided that perhaps we should write her a note (though Logan always says "him" - I find it humorous that Logan thinks the Tooth FAIRY is male).  We said we'd discuss with daddy also to make sure and he agreed that a note would be the best course of action.  So this is how the note goes (Logan was the main author but Mike and I contributed to the last sentence):

Dear Tooth Fairy,
I lost my tooth in my mouth, and I ate it in the cafeteria.  And I swallowed it with my friends (we did confirm that he didn't actually swallow his friends - he swallowed it while he was with his friends).

Please leave me some money even though I don't have a tooth for you.

Oh, and in case you were dying to know, the Tooth Fairy did accept a letter in lieu of a tooth!

Tooth Fairy Time

Several weeks ago we noticed Logan's bottom 2 front teeth were loose.  Ever since then, he's been telling people about his "lost teeth".  Well, he finally did lose one of them tonight!  I noticed he kept moving his tongue around in his mouth and I realized that he was pushing on his teeth.  I had him open up so I could wiggle it a little and it was pretty loose.  He kept messing with it while he was trying to go to sleep and finally came in to have his daddy pull it. So, now we have a cute little snaggletooth......

Logan Reads

Yesterday Logan's teacher sent home a folder with a book in it.  This is his "Take Home Reader".  We're supposed to read through the book together and then I sign the sheet in the folder and send the book back.  They would like for him to read at least 2 books each week.  Yesterday, his book was pretty simple - the "Ff" book.  It had about 8 pages with big pictures of things that start with "f" and then the word beneath it.  He did great but seemed to really notice the pictures more than the words.

Today, he got a "real" book called "Who Can Fix it Up?"
Who can fix up a boy?
Who can fix up a toy?
Who can fix up a shirt?
Who can fix up a skirt?
Who can fix up a box?
Who can fix up a fox?
A mom can!

The first official word he read by himself was "Up" in the title!  He really did a great job and I was so proud!

First Soccer Game!

Logan went to soccer camp this summer and really enjoyed it, so we signed him up for the Fall season.  We had his first game last Saturday.  I thought he did very well and I was so proud of him!  He almost scored a goal (apparently he scored 2 at practice Friday night!) and did a great job being Keeper.

His team didn't score any goals (the other team scored ALOT) but I thought they did great for their first game.  I think the funniest thing of all happened at the end of the game.  The teams met in the middle of the field to tag hands and when Logan got to the other side of the field, he just stayed over there and got a snack (they said he could keep it - we did try to have him return it!).

Can't wait for the rest of his soccer games.  He's really enjoying it and improving every practice.  Oh, and by the way, if you weren't aware:

It's Nuggie Time!

I hadn't planned on posting anything today but Logan is too funny! As most of you know, "Noogie Time" is a frequent occurrence at our house (or really anywhere Logan is). And he doesn't pronounce it "noogie", it's "nuggie". It seems there was some Noogie Time going on in the living room while I was cooking dinner and I hear Logan say (in response to Mike threatening a noogie) "not gonna happen"! Then Mike threatens another noogie and Logan says "negative"! Like father, like son!

Labor Day (with Minimal Labor)

Well, nothing too exciting today....which is how a vacation day should be!  My most eventful activity was taking a walk with Jackson this morning.  I thought I'd try walking to the entrance of the neighborhood and back because I know that it's 0.8 miles from the entrance of the neighborhood to our house.  Well, I will definitely NOT take that route again!  There are a ton of hills in our neighborhood, especially on the main road, and it's very hard to see cars before they come over the hills - not to mention that people drive entirely too fast.  Needless to say, I was a little scared.  Oh well, plenty of other places to walk!

When Jackson and I returned from our 1.6 mile walk (oh, and I did run a little too), there was some labor going on in the garage/driveway.  Mike was cleaning out the garage and Logan, well.....

He was using his Black & Decker tools to put some wheels on a car.  That tool would be the impact wrench per Mike.  And other than Mike's lessons, that was about all the labor that went on this Labor Day at the Bennett house! 

Beginning the Blog (Catch Up)

As I mentioned in the header, this is really more of a journal than a blog.  As I would post "Loganisms" on Facebook, people kept saying "you need to write these things down"!  So that's what I'm going to attempt to do.  For my first official post, I need to catch up on some things I've written down over the past week:

Thursday was Logan's very first full day of school.  On Tuesday, we went to meet his teachers.  Mrs. Decker is his teacher and Mrs. Caldwell is her assistant.  Logan seemed to enjoy his first full day of school but he was pretty exhausted.  He had soccer practice that night also and he was pretty pooped by the time we got home.  The most important thing though was Logan's favorite part of his first day of school: Eating lunch in the "taffy-area" (aka the cafeteria)!

My little man had a rough day today: nosebleed at school; bumped heads with another kid at soccer practice; and then, to top it all off, fell down a few stairs on the deck after getting tangled up with Jackson. He's ok but pitiful:(

Logan sometimes has trouble washing all of his hair - he seems to miss the area above his ears for some reason.  Anyway, if he's missed a few spots, I might reach in and help him out.  Well, apparently I was too rough for him because while helping him tonight I got: "Mommmyyyy! You're making my brain fall out!"

Today we were getting ready to go to Kernel Kustard and I had put on some Bath & Body Works Butterfly Flower lotion. After Logan got changed, he came and gave me a big hug and said “Mmmm….Mommy, you smell comfortable!” I’ll have to let B&B know so they can add that to their description of Butterfly Flower.

And for today.....
I decided that Logan might find the movie Aladdin funny, which he did.  I don't know if you're familiar with the movie or not but, the Genie, who changes shapes/characters several times changed into Pinocchio with a really long nose.  Logan says "Hey, it's Pinky-Dinky-Doo!" at which point we corrected him and he says "Oh yeah, Kinocchio".  Funny kid....I love him:)
